NASA Langley Research Center, established in 1917, is NASA’s first field center that has made significant contributions to the nation’s aviation and space. Located in Hampton, Virginia, the center provides research in aeronautics, Earth science, and space technology. The center's mission is to pioneer the future in Earth science, space exploration, benefiting all of humankind through transformative science and technology, and inspire generations through rich science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) experiences.
